Anderson v1 pg456-457 - letter #482

Dear and Beloved Tr[eitschke]!

What you propose about the fourth part of the takings of the opera is clearly understood!  And, by the way, only for the moment must I remain in your debt. But I shall not Forget that I am your debtor –– As to a benefit performance for myself, I should very much like to secure this particular day, namely, yesterday week, that is to say, next Thursday.

I went to see Herr Pálffy today but could not find him.  Now please do not let the opera sleep too long!  That would surely do would harm.

I will call on you soon, for I have many other things to discuss with you ––

As I am short of paper, I must close.

                                                              Wholly your
